Elizabeth Mazzocco Photography is based out of Montpellier, France. We created a logo and branding package for Elizabeth and look forward to helping her implement on all platforms.

From personal experience, I know the dangers of not having a clear cut contract to operate on. I’ve gotten burned on more than one occasion and don’t plan on it happening again. As this article I found states, it’s easy to think that you can trust fellow business owners. You are under the impression that if you do good (or even great) work for clients, there’s no reason they won’t pay you. But beware, scumbags do still exist.

It’s a short read, but incredibly valuable.

I arrived in France 1 week ago. The goal is inspiration, education, and drumming up new business that can be handled abroad. My other goal is to have absolutely 0 lapse in productivity for current projects. So far-a success.

Lime Creative is very excited to be working on it’s first wedding logo, invitation, save the date and all other collateral for Katie + Josh’s Wedding, which will be August 11, 2012.

Also-some new website proposals, finishing up some brochures, and working on company goals.

I was introduced to a great project – an Etchpop. It’s your custom design on a wood block where you can apply ink and create as many copies as you want! The best part was how this startup was funding itself.

The website it was hosted on is Kickstarter.com. They provide a platform for the public to go on and make a variety of pledges for projects they like. It’s the perfect way to test out how good your idea is. And if it’s great-you will get paid for it!

I find this especially helpful in determining what I should update in my limited spare time that I have to work on my own company visibility. It can be easy to put your website before any social media. But if your goal is to reach as many people as possible-update your facebook page first.

#7: Social media users are more active and influential offline:
Make sure you have a call to action or special that brings your viewer to your business offline. Drive your internet exposure to the real world – and make it easy for them!

#17: The average Facebook user spends 20 minutes on his or her account during each visit.
With daily relevant posts, you can be on their newsfeed and spark their interest. Make sure you are part of that 20 minutes!

#24: 51% of Facebook users and 64% of Twitter users are more likely to buy from the brands they follow.

Take the first step – create your facebook page and get fans!

And finally – how this relates to you as a small business owner. Are you going to have to devote 3 hours to this every day? Do you have to be glued to your phone? Is this going to cost you a new hire? Nope. Just some prioritizing.

#25: Small businesses don’t have to spend much to get results: Zoomerang found that nearly 60% of all small business decision-makers spend less than $100 on social media and 74% of businesses don’t employ anyone to manage their social media marketing.

After much anticipation, the interview is out! Our very own Creative Director, Reagan Burns, was interviewed by Vincent LoTempio, of LoTempio Law Blog a few weeks ago after a chance encounter at the Buffalo Airport. Reagan was honored and eager to talk with Vincent on his view of Trademark and Patent Laws, which LoTempio specializes in. She shared with him the importance of branding and how it ultimately affects the public’s view of a company and what they represent.

‘Branding equals “look and feel of the company.” The logo operates to allow consumers to identify with the company. We help determine what the company needs such as a logo, slogan or tagline.’
